Translated from Japanese literally as “moss ball” this technique grew out of the ancient art of bonsai and can be as simple or complex as you choose to design

Kokedama are showing up everywhere in the world of gardening and design. Join a class at the Nursery at Mount Si to learn techniques to build these beautiful plant structures, and walk away with two of your own! You can create them for indoors, outdoors, set them in low dishes or hang them from your ceiling. A diversity of plants are compatible and the creativity is endless! Our lead instructor, Sharlet Driggs, is a local florist and gardener in the Snoqualmie Valley. She will be returning from a large floral installation at the San Diego Museum of Art just in time inspire us with these new designs!
